Meet Mike Connolly
Real estate has been part of my life for a long time—but not in one uninterrupted straight line.
I’ve called Boulder home since 1972. My first hands-on property project came in the early 1980s, when I fixed up and sold the mobile home I was living in. In 1987, I purchased my first Boulder rental property.
Over the following years, while raising a family and working in the insulation business, I acquired several more rental properties. In 2003, I left my job to invest in real estate full-time.
My experience eventually included single-family homes, a duplex, renovation projects, two houses built from the ground up and a portfolio that grew to 22 rental units.
Living and investing through the 2007–2009 downturn also taught me lasting lessons about leverage, risk, due diligence and the importance of making promises carefully. Those lessons continue to shape how I evaluate properties and conduct business today.
After spending more than a decade working in direct-response marketing, copywriting and business automation, I returned to active real estate investing and launched RealPro HomeBuyers in 2021. My recent experience has included land transactions as well as residential properties, with RealPro now focused primarily on helping homeowners throughout Boulder, Denver and nearby Front Range communities.
When I’m not working, you’ll often find me zipping around Boulder on my bicycle, hanging out with family, or playing music with friends.
A Personal Owner-Led Approach
RealPro isn’t a national home-buying franchise or a high-volume call center. It’s a locally owned business, and I remain personally involved in evaluating properties and speaking with homeowners.
When you contact RealPro, you’ll either speak directly with me or with a professional answering service representing RealPro HomeBuyers. They’ll gather some basic information and pass it along to me, and I’ll make every effort to follow up personally within 24 hours.
My first objective is to understand the property, your priorities and what you hope to accomplish. If RealPro may be a good fit, I’ll explain how our process works and what additional information I need to evaluate the property.
Depending on the property and circumstances, that could lead to a straightforward cash offer or another flexible purchase proposal. There is no obligation to accept an offer, and you won’t be pressured into making an immediate decision.
What You Can Expect
Straightforward communication
I’ll explain what RealPro can and cannot offer, answer your questions as clearly as possible and keep you informed throughout the process.
An as-is evaluation
We consider properties in their current condition. In many cases, homeowners can avoid making repairs, staging the house or preparing it for repeated public showings.
Flexible timing
When possible, we’ll structure the closing around the seller’s circumstances rather than imposing an arbitrary timeline.
A realistic discussion of your options
Selling directly to an investor isn’t the best choice for everyone. Listing with an experienced real estate agent will often produce a higher sale price—particularly when a property is in good condition and the homeowner has the time and resources to prepare it for the market.
A direct sale may make more sense when convenience, certainty, flexibility or selling as-is matters more than obtaining the highest possible retail price. If I believe another approach deserves serious consideration, I’ll tell you.
Is RealPro the Right Fit for You?
You may want to speak with us if you:
- Own a house that needs repairs or updating
- Don’t want to clean out, stage or repeatedly show the property
- Inherited a property you don’t want to keep
- Own a vacant, rental or otherwise burdensome property
- Need greater certainty about whether and when the sale will close
- Simply want to understand your alternatives before deciding what to do
RealPro HomeBuyers is a real estate investment company, not a real estate brokerage, and we do not represent homeowners as their agent. Our role is to evaluate properties we may be interested in purchasing and, when appropriate, present a purchase proposal.
If you have any questions about our process for helping you sell a house quickly for a fair cash amount or if you want to learn more about the process of selling to an investor, don’t hesitate to contact us anytime!
